As a Disability Support Worker, you will work closely with customers with various abilities by providing day to day active support, personal care and following of behavior support plans and individual support plans. Work within a team environment to support customer to achieve their goals.

We are looking for individuals with experience, or with no experience but looking for a career change to join our organisation. We provide extensive onboarding and induction training and additional career development opportunities.

The SIL & STA accommodation houses operate 24/7, 365 days per annum and shifts span between day shifts, afternoon shifts, night shifts, sleepover and active nights.

Job Description

We have Casual and Permanent Part Time positions available.

As a Disability Support Worker you will be required to perform the following tasks, but not limited to:

  • Maintain a safe environment for customers, and maintain a high level of duty of care
  • Meet customers day-to-day health and medical needs:
    • administer medication
    • assist with manual handling tasks
    • provide personal care
    • assist with complex care needs where required
  • Provide physical duties to customers which include domestic duties (cleaning, gardening, laundry etc)
  • Assist customers to connect with family and friends, and to maintain community links
  • Liaise with relevant internal and external stakeholders with regards to ensuring quality service is provided to customers
  • Advocate for customer as required
  • Assist in completing Individual Support Plans with customers as and when required
  • Assist in completing End of Plan Reports as and when required
  • Complete dated notes after completion of each shift
  • Report all authorised and unauthorised use of restrictive practice

Desired Skills and Experience

Qualification:

Certificate IV in Disability, Aged Care, Individual Support, Community Service or related and or proven relevant experience (preferable, but not required)

Experience (preferable, but not required):

  • Understanding of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission
  • Must have a resilient and calm nature
  • Computer literate

Due to services being provided ongoing, your availability must be in line with shift times, which could commence from 6 am in the morning or end at 10 pm of an evening.
